Edit - day of event. We have space for three people to share, and space for people to come along as supporters. There’s no need to sign up at this stage, so just come along as you are and we’ll see you there!
For October, we're planning something a bit different to our usual story-telling events. We'll be hosting an evening for first time sharers/performers (or people who are newish to sharing and are nervous/lacking confidence in doing so) to share their poetry, music, art, photography, writing, idea or anything else that they'd like to bring. Through Live a Good Story we’ve got to know loads of brilliant people who have wanted to take further steps in sharing the things they have created, and we really felt that creating a space intentionally for people sharing things for the first time would be really valuable.
So what can you share? It really can be anything, but we're offering the opportunity to our community to come and have a bit of time in front of a supportive and safe (and probably small) crowd, to take that first step of sharing your work. This event will be taking place on 16th October, 7-9.30pm (arrive from 7, we’ll start at 7.30) at Nowhere Man Cafe, Upper North Street (same as our last event). It will be a pay as you feel event on the night, but we’d appreciate it if you’d let us know if you’re coming.
So we'd like to invite you, or anyone else you know who might benefit from this, to sign up for a slot (we reckon on giving people 5ish minutes each, maybe a bit more if needed) by using the form below. We know it’s a brave step for many but we’re looking forward to people sharing art of all different forms, their ideas and themselves before a positive and supportive crowd. Also if you sign up and change your mind then it’s totally OK - just let us know.
It doesn't have to be perfect or polished, it's all about giving it a go and putting what you've created out there. The evening is a bit of an experiment, but we're really looking forward to it. We can't wait to see all the hidden talent and creativity which we know is just waiting to appear.
